CECEAA was formed in 1992 to create a support network and represent
the interests of early childhood centres throughout New Zealand with
a Christian Philosophy. It is an interdenominational organisation.
The
majority of its membership is made up of community based centres
attached to churches, some private centres and Christian individuals
working in early childhood education. It has grown as churches
continue to set up community based centres in their local community.
It
gives information and support to members, holds national and
regional conferences, facilitates regional and national networks and
reflects its members unique Christian philosophy in all issues
relating to early childhood education with other agencies involved
in early childhood education and support for families.
