Early Education Federation Election 2014 Public Forum

On the 11th of August the Federation hosted a public forum in Wellington for those interested in government policy on early childhood education. The forum provided the community with a chance to hear directly from political party spokespeople about their early childhood education policies, as well as an opportunity to ask questions of the parties which represent them in Parliament.

The forum was also an opportunity to highlight the Federation’s key policy priorities for 2014 which are to: ensure quality in ECE alongside increasing participation; support ECE services to cater better for children with special needs; and, improve national planning for provision of ECE services.

Speakers at the forum were: Catherine Delahunty (Green Party); Chris Hipkins (Labour Party); Te Hamua Nikora (Mana Party); Paul Foster-Bell (National Party); and Tracey Martin (NZ First Party). Amanda Coulston was the MC for the evening.
